Solaro is an existing partnership between IST, Octopus energy generation and partners to deliver a market leading solution that cuts carbon through the adoption of renewable energy and smart lighting all at no cost to you!

Solaro has been designed to assist and accelerate your organisations transition to a low carbon future even if you don’t have an immediate budget as our team provides a practical, fully funded path to modernization delivering results from day one.

Solaro combines Lighting as a Service (LaaS) and Energy as a Service (EaaS) into one simple solution. That means upgraded, efficient lighting and clean energy to significantly reduce consumption, lower emissions, and improving operational reliability, all with minimal disruption.

Lighting as a Service (LaaS)

Upgrading lighting can be expensive and time-consuming to plan and deliver. With Solaro’s Lighting as a Service, you replace outdated systems with high-efficiency, smart-controlled LED lighting that is fully funded and fully managed—so you can start saving immediately without the hassle of managing the project or paying upfront. Benefits include reduced maintenance, safer/brighter environments, and major reductions in lighting-related electricity use (up to 80%).

Financing Options

Solaro provides two fully funded routes, both designed to remove upfront cost—the key difference is how you pay and who owns the system:

1) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
A PPA is a fully funded route where Solaro partners finance, install, operate, and maintain the systems. You benefit from stable, long-term pricing, reduced exposure to energy price spikes, and monitored performance. Ownership typically transfers at the end of the term.

2) Asset Finance
Asset finance is ideal if you want ownership from day one with a clear, mapped payback. Costs are spread through low monthly payments over an agreed term, structured around your budget and goals—while Solaro partners still design, install, maintain, and optimise the solution.

Energy as a Service (EaaS)

Solaro’s Energy as a Service gives you access to high-quality on-site energy infrastructure—such as solar PV and battery storage, integrated with smart lighting—with zero upfront cost. Solaro and its partners handle everything from design and installation to grid integration, monitoring, optimisation, and maintenance, typically wrapped into a fixed monthly fee or service-style agreement. The result is greater cost certainty, improved resilience (including backup power), and a scalable platform that supports net-zero and long-term energy performance.
