Water Meadow View – Smart Lighting & IP Controls

Water Meadow View is a new-build, 14-bed specialist inpatient facility for adults with Learning Disabilities (LD), delivered by Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We were appointed to deliver a human-focused lighting and controls solution that supports wellbeing, comfort and dignity—while meeting strict safety requirements and sustainability goals aligned with BREEAM excellence and Net Zero Carbon ambitions.

Our solution combines Serenity Lighting™ ultra-efficient luminaires (up to 200 lm/W) with IP-based controls and PoE/PoE-X SELV DC power distribution. Bedrooms feature tunable white (2700K–5500K) and RGB sensory lighting with individual scene control, while remote drivers located outside service-user areas reduce disruption during maintenance. A site-wide 48Vdc “nanogrid” and PoE-enabled self-test emergency lighting complete a future-ready infrastructure for ongoing optimisation.
